The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport is continuing our Learn to Camp program in selected parks this summer! We will also be running Learn to Fish for a second year. We would like to thank you for your participation in these programs and for promoting general park use amongst your organization and community members.

Visit Saskatchewan Provincial Parks

Saskatchewan Provincial Parks are the perfect place to visit this summer season! You can relax with family and friends, enjoy recreation, explore nature learn about Saskatchewan’s history. With so many activities, our parks have something to offer everyone, including newcomers to Saskatchewan.

Consider coming to a provincial park to spend the day, have a picnic, hike the trails, or organize water activities. Pack Frisbees, footballs, soccer balls or baseballs for an afternoon of games or take part in any of the organized interpretive activities.

Learn to Fish

Learn to Fish return for a second season this summer at six popular fishing destinations across the province. This program is designed to introduce fishing to beginners over the age of 10 and to encourage proper fishing practices.

The program will begin with a teaching portion with an experienced angler introducing participants to the following topics: fish identification, tackle and accessories, rules and regulations, how to cast, proper fish handling and much more! The teaching portion will be followed by a hands-on casting lesson, and once participants have the basics of casting they will have the chance to try their luck at catching a fish! Program participants are not required to own/bring along equipment as everything will be provided.

Learn to Camp

This is great for those who are new to camping or inexperienced in camping, and are interested in planning their first trip into nature with the help of Saskatchewan Provincial Parks!

Overnight Camping Experience

Campers will join experienced leaders and fellow new campers on an overnight camping trip. Campers will learn how to set up a campsite, cook meals on a camp stove, build a fire, and enjoy all the park has to offer! No equipment? No problem, it’s provided! Programs are held in July and August at Echo Valley Provincial Park, Good Spirit Lake Provincial Park and Pike Lake Provincial Park. Community Outreach Program

Let us bring Provincial Parks and camping to your community! Learn about Saskatchewan’s provincial parks through a presentation and hands-on demonstrations. These family-oriented sessions provide an opportunity to learn how to plan and enjoy your first camping trip. These are also a great way to introduce newcomers to Saskatchewan Provincial Parks.
