Christmas Hamper

Christmas is usually a time of celebration. However, for some families it is a financial struggle. This
year the Hampton Village Community Association, in partnership with St. Lorenzo Ruiz Catholic
School and Bridge City Bible Church, will be collecting donations for Christmas Hampers to help
three families in Hampton Village. Our goal is to help provide food for meals and gifts during this

All donations can be made to the Hampton Village Community Association. Cash or cheques can
be dropped off at the main office of St. Lorenzo school. Alternatively, donations can be made in
person to Dave Cornelius, information is found below. Donations can be made anytime between
November 1 and December 7, 2018. The HVCA is unable to issue charitable receipts.

This is an opportunity to show that we care about all families in this great neighbourhood. For
more information about the Christmas Hampers, please contact Dave Cornelius (306)261-9218 or

Thank You,
Hampton Village Community Association

Child & Youth Friendly Saskatoon

The below is a message we were requested to repost on our website:

I am a board member with the charitable organization Child & Youth Friendly Saskatoon. This year, with help from Plan Canada, we will be starting a Speaker’s Bureau in Saskatoon. This program has been running in Toronto for a number of years. With some extra funding that they received, Plan Canada decided to branch out to 5 other communities in Canada and Saskatoon has been selected. We are very excited to be able to work with them on this project.

The Speaker’s Bureau is designed to engage youth between the ages of 14 and 22.  They will meet monthly to discuss social justice issues with a focus on gender equality. We will work to identify and to try to resolve some of the local issues. We are hoping that young people will come out to the meetings to actively engage in the process. The information about the first three meetings is as follows:

DatesThursday, Oct. 12Thursday, Nov. 16; Thursday, Dec. 14

Time:  6:30pm-8:30pm

Where: Aden Bowman Collegiate (corner of Clarence Ave. and Taylor St.)

I have attached a poster for the first meeting.  It would be greatly appreciated if you could post the poster on your website and Facebook page.
Thank you for your assistance.
